Reverse Mentorship Program
Reverse Mentoring, which stands out as an important tool to encourage diversity in decision-making processes and amplify underrepresented voices in the workplace, aims to strengthen connections between leaders and young employees, fostering a deeper understanding across generations.
Our mentors reported that, through the program, they were able to position themselves better in the workplace, gaining confidence. They also mentioned that they developed new perspectives, recognized their own biases, and received valuable leadership advice for their career growth. They shared that they were able to strengthen their communication with younger generations and address gaps in their approach to career development.
Our mentees stated that they had the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills through one-on-one communication with mentors from the Millennial and Gen Z generations. They also improved their cross-generational understanding and communication skills, gaining new ideas and different viewpoints. They noted that they learned how the younger generation openly expresses their emotions and the importance of giving and receiving feedback.
On the organizational level, the program has had meaningful contributions as well. It has strengthened intergenerational communication within the company, fostering a stronger bond among employees. Furthermore, it reinforced diversity and inclusivity mechanisms, supporting the learning culture within the organization.
Participants who completed the program described their Reverse Mentoring experience with words like “transformation,” “empathy,” “valuable,” and “seeing the big picture,” highlighting how it strengthened intergenerational communication in the workplace.
The continuation of such programs in the future will allow the company to grow in harmony with evolving work practices. We are excited for what’s to come!
