Our Social Responsibility Project “Chemistry of the Century” Holds Its 1st Water Workshop on World Water Day, March 22!

According to the United Nations, by 2025, more than half of the global population is expected to face the risk of water scarcity. This critical situation calls for urgent and collective action in water management and sustainable solutions.
In this context, the “Chemistry of the Century Project”, conducted under the consultancy of SosyalBen Academy, brought together high school and university students from seven regions of Türkiye to raise awareness on blue economy, innovative solutions to water crises, and sustainable water management. The workshop facilitated knowledge sharing among participants from different regions of Türkiye, contributing to the creation of a collective awareness.
Held at the Organik Kimya Kemerburgaz Social Facilities, the workshop proved to be an effective and educational event on sustainable water management and the actions young people can take against water crises. Participants developed a variety of solutions for efficient water use, considering not only individual responsibilities but also the roles of public institutions, educational establishments, and the industrial sector. Strategies to promote water conservation and recommendations for their implementation were discussed in detail.
Students had the opportunity to present the projects they developed based on theoretical and practical applications, and this process also enabled them to further strengthen their scientific competencies. Such projects support young people in gaining deeper knowledge on scientific and environmental topics and in developing sustainable solutions.
In conclusion, active participation of youth in water management and the creation of a collective consciousness will make a substantial impact both environmentally and economically. Implementing the strategies discussed during the workshop is crucial for protecting water resources and preventing future water crises.
With the contributions of individuals who will shape the future of water management, we hope that the steps we take today for a sustainable world will have lasting effects.
